Prototype-1
We have developed a pattern expression method that involves layering transmissive liquid crystal film into which dot patterns have been cut and modifying the moire pattern by changing the level of the film’s transparency. In addition, we demonstrated that it is possible to express a greater variety of patterns by combining this with a printed pattern. Furthermore, as an application, the design of garments is proposed.
PROTOTYPE-2
We have proposed clothes that can communicate emotion of a person, which can not be understood from the outside easily.
These clothes increase transparency as if to expose the inside of the heart when the wearer is relaxed, but become opaque when the wearer is nervous and defensive. When the nervous level reaches the maximum, it blinks violently to intimidate others.
Based on the information sent by both heartbeat and electrodermal sensors worn by the wearer, their degree of relaxation is estimated the transparency of the clothes is changed by special film. By visualizing the emotional state of the wearer, we propose a future fashion capable of supporting communication among people.
